Gullane Golf Club

Dress Code

Gullane Golf Club aims to operate a contemporary and forward thinking dress policy, commensurate with a modern day golf club. It is in all our interests to maintain reasonable standards of casual but smart dress in keeping with golfing traditions. Golfers at Gullane Golf Club are therefore made aware that the following are required standards that must be adhered to, both on the golf course and in the clubhouse.

CLOTHING

Golfing attire is required for all players. Denim jeans, t-shirts, cargo or combat trousers/shorts, tracksuits, rugby and football shirts are not permitted on the course or in the clubhouse at any time. Tailored shorts are allowed on the course and in the Clubhouse. Flip-flops, and sandals without socks are not allowed Clothing that may have endured the rigours of golfing for example wet or muddy garments must be changed out of before entering any lounge, bar or dining areas. Coats and other outdoor clothing should be left in changing rooms. Hats should be removed in the Clubhouse.

SHOES

Golf shoes are allowed in all areas during the summer months, with the exception of the Derby Room. This will be effective from through to the autumn clock change. However, members and visitors must use the shoe cleaner at the back door before entering the building. We hope that common sense prevails and that shoes and waterproofs suffering from the rigours of the course are left in the locker room. On occasions where the weather is poor, and if course conditions dictate, we will revert to the winter policy and restrict golf shoes to the Back Bar only.

The winter policy is that golf shoes are not permitted to be worn in the lounge or dining areas. All golfers must change from golf shoes into appropriate footwear before entering these areas. Soft spike golf shoes are still permissable all year round in the Back Bar.

MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phones are not permitted to be used for making or receiving calls in any lounge or dining areas. They are permitted to be used for calls elsewhere, including the hallways and changing rooms. Mobile phones can be used anywhere in the clubhouses for other purposes such as text, emails, internet access but must be kept in silent mode.

Mobile phones on the golf course are for emergency use only.
